Thai Massage on the Table
32 NCBTMB and Florida State Continuing Education Hours
Expand your current bodywork and massage repertoire taking our Thai massage on the Table workshop.
Level I - 2 Day Thai on the Table training class in the front and back positions, and Level II- 2 Day Thai on the Table training class in the sitting and side-lying positions. In these exciting
passive yoga stretch workshops, students will learn how to affect the whole person in two full 60-minute Thai-Yoga Massage sessions performed on the massage table. Clients can be fully/partially clothed and no oil, lotion or gel is needed. This invigorating and yet relaxing Thai table massage will suit your active, healthy clients who have highly physical or stressful lifestyles. This type of bodywork is an increasingly popular and requested modality for the work place, corporate and/or industrial settings, health/yoga retreats, health spas, gyms, sports events, and clinical settings. It also complements and can be used in conjunction with a variety of other bodywork modalities.
Participants will learn how to integrate Thai massage into their existing
practice and how smoothly elements of a typical Traditional
Thai Massage session can be performed on the massage table with dynamic
flowing movements, joint manipulation, rhythmic stretching. Smooth
transitions will have you gracefully moving from beside the table to on top
of the table to make the most of gravity.
Participants receive a fully illustrated Thai massage on the table workbook for each level.
Upon completion of the class, you will be prepared to give 5 60 to 90 minute Thai on the Table general restorative sessions or treatment specifically targeted to one of five common chronic pain conditions.
Participants will get:
Step-by-step instruction of Thai Massage sequences which can readily be incorporated into table or floor treatments.
Several Thai routines which can be used immediately after class

Basic and advanced Thai passive stretches/sequences to be incorporated into Thai Herbal Compress massage, Sports massage, Deep tissue massage, Swedish massage or any other massage table modality
Classes consist primarily of hands-on demonstrations and hands-on practice.
Sen Energy work and basic information about acupressure/Marma points and how to work with them. There will be some mention of meridian/sen energy lines and the areas of the body they correspond to, but most of the class will concentrate on the hands-on Thai routine itself.
Thai Massage on the Table works well for clients who do not feel comfortable on the Thai mat on the floor or in situations where a table is available but a mat is not. Safer proper stretching techniques and body mechanics taught in this class means less work for the therapist, less effort and less risk of back, knees, wrists and thumbs injury, benefiting both the therapist and the client.
These Thai massage on the table classes are appropriate for:
Massage therapists/Bodyworkers/Personal Trainers who have already taken a Thai massage course on the mat but want to learn to adapt these techniques to the table
Those interesting in exploring Thai massage but unsure if they want to commit to the full certification program
Great complement to any spa menu of services. See our Thai Massage Spa Staff training program.
Also a great complement to the Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage and Thai Sports Massage when applying both modalities in the same session.
