SACRED BODYWORK
Thai Residential Retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand
20-30 November 2012
THAI MASSAGE LEVELS I-II-III - 60 NCBTMB; Florida and Louisiana States CE hours
Join us in this 11 day/10 night residential retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and immerse yourself in a culture that made healing an art form.
Thai Massage is a precious gift of Thailand that is encircling the world, and Chiang Mai is the home of the northern style of Thai Massage. Centuries of masters have lived, practiced and shared their knowledge in this ancient city. Connect with this lineage and you will feel their wisdom and experience supporting you in your work.
The restoration of balance and the removal of energy blocks are the ways the Thai Massage heals the body. Thai Massage is more preventative than curative for according to the Thai people, 'the absence of illness is the best blessing'.
Thai works toward balance at all levels--physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, and the practitioner receives the same benefits as the recipient.
Over these eleven days, you will give and receive Thai massage and learn to enhance your connection with yourself and others, developing into a more powerful and effective healing channel.
Students will be able to meet one of our dearest teachers and a Thai living treasure, Mrs. Lek Chaiya. Mama Lek has received many awards and recognitions over the years of her outstanding contributions to the Authentic Thai Traditional Healing Arts.
Every year, we are delighted to have the opportunity to introduce our Thai residential retreat group to Mama Lek. It is always an amazing experience for all to spend the time with her and learn from her. Her warmth, grace and amazing touch speak far more than words.

Thai Massage would not be the same without the body-mind-spirit connection, and excursions will include visits to sacred sites, including Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, one of the most revered temples in Thailand. It is approximately 10 miles north of the city.
Our Thai retreat will also coincide with the festival of Loy Krathong. This traditional festival honors the goddess of rivers and waterways. Elaborate constructs with flowers, incense and candles are floated down the rivers, a magical site. Also coinciding with Loy Krathong is the festival of Yi Peng, during which paper lanterns are released delicately into the sky.
November is one of the best times of year, weather-wise, to visit Chiang Mai. The rainy season typically runs through October, so November is the beginning of the cool season. Expect 80s in the days and 60s in the nights on average.
